The Vienna Climate Team is a participatory initiative in Vienna that brings residents, local stakeholders, and the city administration together to co-develop and implement climate protection measures at the district level. It enables citizens to submit ideas, collaborate with experts, and take part in decision-making processes related to urban sustainability.
Connecting city administration and civil society
The Vienna Climate Team acts as a bridge between government institutions and residents by creating structured opportunities for direct collaboration. It translates citizen ideas into actionable projects with administrative support, making governance more transparent and accessible. Through this co-creation process, it builds mutual trust, improves communication, and ensures that policies are better aligned with the needs and knowledge of civil society.
