Doorstep chats
Do you know this situation? You organise a meeting to discuss traffic calming in your neighbourhood and the people most affected by the noise don't show up. You are not the only one and there is a solution: Doorstep chats are an useful method to reach out to people that are not yet part of the discussion but are needed very much.

Gamification of climate friendly behaviour
Gamification is the application of game-design mechanics — such as points, rewards, competitions, challenges, and progress tracking — to non-game contexts in order to motivate behaviour change. In the context of urban sustainability and mobility, it turns everyday choices like taking public transport, cycling, or saving energy into visible, rewarding actions that feel meaningful and fun rather than obligatory.

Making specific demands that are backed up by evidence
The "Platz für Wien" Initiative had a lasting impact on Vienna because they specified their demands and backed them up with scientific findings (e.g., demand for 50 km of bicycle lanes by 2030). They even has scientists speaking up for them, which made their demands even more valid.
Mobility Parcour
This experiential mobility tool empowers citizens to discover and evaluate shared mobility options through direct, hands-on experience. Participants can test different sharing modes, such as bicycles, cargo bikes, e-scooters, and shared cars, in a low-threshold setting without complex registration processes. By reducing barriers to trial and exploration, the activity encourages informed mobility choices and increases awareness of the opportunities that shared mobility can offer in everyday life.
Neighborhood Party
A Neighbourhood Party can create an inclusive space where residents can explore sustainable mobility options, connect with local initiatives, and discuss the future of mobility in their community. Through interactive activities, demonstrations, and informal exchanges, participants are empowered to learn about available alternatives, share their experiences, and actively contribute to shaping a more accessible, sustainable, and liveable neighbourhood.

Regular table for district politics and initiatives
In this format district politics and initiatives meet up in a casual setting. This benefits everyone: On the one hand politicans can efficently update several initiatives at the same time and get wind of citizens troubles related to urban space at an early stage. Initiatives on the other hand get insights and can discuss their visions and potential future collaborations.

How your neighbourhood should look like should be a concern of everybody living there, right? In reality it can be hard getting in touch with people about this topic. Especially if they have a different social or cultural background than you. This tool helps you to do so anyway.

Tree Budget Graz
Tree budget Graz is an innovative financing model introduced by the City of Graz to systematically fund the planting and maintenance of urban trees. It draws from three sources: compensation fees collected under the city's tree protection ordinance (which requires replanting or financial compensation when trees are removed), voluntary tree sponsorships open to individuals and companies, and project-specific budget approvals by the city council. Together, these streams create a dedicated financial pool that ensures greening efforts are not dependent on a single, uncertain budget line.
Window Banner
Initiatives use window banners to communicate their demands to the public. This creates visibility and helps the initiative grow, encouraging more and more people to join the cause and the banner campaign.
